History Zone

Treatment:

We want to offer a brief but compelling and interesting account of our nation’s history. The content will give an overview of key phases of our history: The Amerindians, Slavery, Colonialism, Independence (modern day SKN). Features of the content will correspond to the phases covered, and iconic historical symbols and images will be used to guide the visitors through those phases:

Brimstone Hill

Berkeley Memorial (The Circus)

Cotton Ginnery

Wingfield Estate, and Old Road

Sugar Factory

We want to pin-point important events that affected the country’s economy and trade, locally-produced food & beverage industries, and transportation and electronics sectors.

Experience:

This space is both our invitation and welcome to the Expo visitors. It should attract onlookers with the vibrancy of distinctly Kittitian and Nevisian melodies and a dense and rich display of our Federation’s flora and fauna.

The features of the content will include:

Replicate images of significant historical sites

Increased text-based, and audio story-telling

A focus feature on our Independence

Soundtrack of historical events or distinct sounds

An interactive timeline of significant events in the country’s history.

With history generally being a low energy topic of which to present we would utilize a funny yet light hearted animated video or comic book styled representations of a key moment(s) in our history to boost engagement in this area. *A battle at Brimestone Hill*
